Discarded protests against the desire for new and disposable, seeking a different narrative for the rejected and spurned. Work in the Discarded collection has been made from what would usually be considered rubbish. Rejected materials found in gutters, streams, laneways and the artist studio have been salvaged and modified into something new. The pre- existing character of items seized and reworked, extending life and adding to the history of what would commonly be considered redundant.
